Live at the Uni series is back – at the Uni!

Due to COVID, last year’s Live at the Uni series was held at Sycamore High School. Due to popular demand, we decided to return to our home base, the Universalist Church (across the street from Montgomery Inn), so people can enjoy the cozy ambiance and intimate setting that make this music experience so special.

We’ll kick off this season on October 11 with No Promises Vocal Band, a Montgomery favorite. Did you know that founding member, Joshua Steele, graduated high school at Sycamore?

October 25 brings to the stage the wonderful sounds of Phil DeGreg and Brasilia, featuring the vibraphone genius of Rusty Birge. DeGreg spent a significant amount of time studying the native music while visiting Brazil and is an expert at this unique and lovely repertoire.

On November 15, we’re excited to welcome back the Faux Frenchmen, performing their brand of “gypsy jazz” made popular in the 1930s by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli. You may recognize violinist Paul Patterson from his perch in the string section of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

And you don’t want to miss Jazz Queen Mandy Gaines who will perform a holiday concert special on Sunday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m.

All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and last about an hour. As always, concerts are free; a voluntary donation is certainly appreciated. A reception immediately following each concert featuring complimentary appetizers will be held at Montgomery Inn. A cash bar will also be available.
