For decades, Hopewell Cemetery has been chosen as the final resting place for many in our Montgomery and surrounding communities. Hopewell Cemetery encompasses eleven acres and has over 6,000 graves. The sale of grave sites has always provided a revenue stream to assist the city in the overall maintenance and operations of the cemetery. However, fewer than forty grave sites are available for purchase, and that revenue stream will be gone.
City Administration began working with KZF Architects to research alternative burial options at Hopewell Cemetery that will create a new revenue stream essential to maintaining and operating the cemetery. Adding a columbarium to include cremation niches tastefully constructed within the cemetery is one option.
