Montgomery Monument to Begin Construction

Construction of the Montgomery Monument, located in the center of the Montgomery Road and Cross County Highway roundabout, will begin this month!  This monument and the associated landscaping will significantly enhance this important gateway into our community.  The City has entered into a construction-manager-at-risk agreement with Brandicorp LLC to manage the monument’s construction.

Construction will begin this month, with the most intense construction occurring from May through August, while school is off for the summer and traffic is at its lowest.  In order to construct the monument, the “inside” lane of the roundabout will be closed during the working day as needed and during the summer months will be closed continuously.  There will also be periodic disruptions to the roundabout traffic while equipment and materials are being brought to the center of the roundabout. It is anticipated that the monument and associated landscaping will be complete this fall.

Traffic delays are expected during construction, so please take an alternative route if possible. We appreciate your patience during this “monumental” project!

Regular updates will be provided on the City’s website as work progresses.  For additional information on this or other projects, please contact Gary Heitkamp, Public Works Director, at 513-792-8321.
